So many of my past (present?) neuroses in a single post... but beyond that, I think the ready theory is pretty great, as frustrating as it is to try and be patient. How handy would it be if I could just snap my fingers and say "Yes, Life, I am ready to try settling into a relationship now, my will be done, Amen" ? Super-handy, is the answer. But I can't, and there's nothing for it but that waiting of which I am so very un-fond... Hm. I feel like I'm just repeating your message, when what I really meant to say is that I agree.
